Privacy

Ealdholm is our home and garden. Our roadside produce box shares garden produce, swaps and the odd special, and this site and our Facebook Page show what is in it. This page says what that means for your privacy.

The camera

A small camera inside the box photographs its shelves: when we put up a new message, and every 15 minutes for this site. It points only at the shelves and records no sound. Before a photo goes out it takes two shots a few seconds apart and uses one only when nothing in the box is moving, so it is unlikely to catch someone reaching in.

This site shows only the latest photo; each new one replaces the last. Each of our Facebook posts carries the photo taken when it went up. The box keeps the latest photo and each post's photo. We can also look at the shelves live from home; that is not recorded.

This site

box.ealdholm.com shows the latest shelf photo and what the sign at the box says. It uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and asks nothing of you. Cloudflare hosts it and handles visitors' IP addresses to deliver it: see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Facebook

Our Facebook app, Ealdholm Box, does one thing: it posts the box's messages and shelf photos to our own Page, Ealdholm, and adds "(all gone)" when a message ends. Nobody logs in to it, and it does not read anything about the people who follow, like or comment on the Page. What you do on Facebook is covered by Meta's privacy policy.

Your information

We do not collect personal information through the box, this site or our Facebook app, so we have nothing about you to sell or share. If a photo or post of ours shows you or something of yours, tell us and we will take it down: see Data deletion.
